What to expect in a Hatha Yoga class?

Breathing
The Hatha Yoga online class begins with a breathing exercise. This class also teaches the two important breathing exercises; Kapalabhati & Anulom Vilom.

Warm-up
A second part covers exercises to warm up your entire body. You will start with Surya Namaskar and then perform dolphin and leg raise. In addition to warming up the spine, Surya Namaskar also warms up the large muscles.

Asanas
This third part will address yoga asanas in the traditional sequence. Depending on your capabilities, you will hold your poses for a duration of one minute to three minutes. We will take short breaks between poses to relax.

Final Relaxation
It’s the most relaxing part of class. During this session, you will receive 15 minutes of deep relaxation.

Can everyone do Hatha Yoga?

Hatha Yoga is not suitable for everyone, despite the fact that it is an extremely beneficial style of Yoga. However, we have found that the following group of people will find it too challenging and would benefit more from some gentler form of yoga, such as Chair Yoga.

  • Elderly people.
  • People recovering from extensive injuries.
  • Those with injuries to their necks or spines.
  • People who have severe knee problems.
